License Plate Recognition (LPR)
License Plate Recognition (LPR) is a critical component of modern traffic management systems. By reading vehicle license plates, LPR systems track and monitor their behavior on the road. These systems are particularly used for security, traffic regulation, and detecting illegal movements.
LPR systems utilize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to read license plates and cross-check them with databases to generate various data. These systems typically operate through an integration of cameras, sensors, and software infrastructure. License plate recognition systems are effectively used in various areas such as road safety, traffic management, parking management, toll collection, and traffic violation detection.
Lane Violation Detection
Lane violation detection is a system that identifies when vehicles cross lane boundaries and enter another lane illegally.
Cameras monitor the lanes through which vehicles pass. If a vehicle illegally crosses into another lane, the system detects and records this violation through the license plate recognition system. The violation is then transmitted in real-time to the management center.
Parking Violation Detection
This system detects vehicles that are parked in prohibited areas or parked incorrectly.
Cameras monitor vehicles in parking zones and identify illegally parked cars. The license plate recognition system records the vehicle’s plate number, and a fine may be issued if necessary.
Red Light Violation Detection
A system designed to prevent traffic rule violations by detecting vehicles running red lights.
Cameras installed at intersections with traffic lights record vehicles that pass through when the light is red. The license plate recognition system identifies the vehicle’s plate number and sends this violation to relevant traffic authorities.
Corridor Speed Detection System
A system used to detect vehicles exceeding the speed limit along a specific corridor.
Cameras measure the time it takes for a vehicle to pass between two points along a given route. Based on this time, the vehicle’s speed is calculated. If the vehicle exceeds the speed limit, the system logs the violation and transmits the data, along with the vehicle’s plate number, to the authorities.
Highway License Plate Recognition System
This system monitors vehicles on highways and expressways, collecting data, checking speed, and detecting violations.
Cameras along the highway detect the license plates of high-speed vehicles. The system also measures the speed of vehicles and records data such as toll fees. Additionally, the system gathers traffic data to assist in traffic management.
